The puppies are a week old today and they are doing great! Grace is super mom... and now thinks they are old enough to know what a ball is! She comes in, from playing fetch (she started back 2 days after delivering) and places the 'chuck it' ball inside with the puppies. Which, I might add, drives AJ nuts because he wants the ball too. (Now, we do have loads of other balls around here!)
I will now end our game time with the use of those soft water play balls, since it might later be found with the little critters.
The puppies have also put on a nice weight, move about well... and there hasn't been any need for extra heat the last few days as we are hitting 90 degrees outside already!
Here are a few more pictures of what's been going on here. You will see the ball... and also how everyone wants to be in the room with her as it must be quite fun in there. Ah... really? Some call it work! LOL... A work of love, of course.
What a special time this is, to see Grace with her babies. I can see some are going to be little tanks, as she was!

The puppies are now 3 1/2 weeks old, have left their quiet room and have made the trip into the living room. Grace has to 'share' more as those puppies are just too cute not to adore. AJ and Amelia give face washes while Angelee feels they are more her age and wants to be in the box with them. The puppies actually look forward to seeing them but Grace wants them to keep their paws out. She's an excellent mother.
I noticed yesterday a couple were very interested in what Grace was licking from a saucer and their little tongues started to explore the dish. (It was yogurt) Although a few days earlier than I would typically put out some goat milk formula, Sterling's breeder said 'go for it', so we did today.
Here are some pictures of them as they tried to manage. Not sure if they got anything but a taste, but for the experience alone, it was good to do. We'll do this for them everyday... they'll get the hang of it and before you know it they'll be asking 'Where's the beef'?!
So their goat milk formula consists of ... goat milk (obviously) a raw egg, drop of honey, 1 cup distilled water and 2 loose scoops of K9 Puppy Gold. (Awesome supplement!)
All are walking rather well with the occasional tipping over. There are a few with attitudes and are more vocal, but all love to be held.
Will post a new video clip soon!

Ready to lap?
I say let him go first!
My mouth is watering though...
Hmmm, let's try it
How, without falling in?
Not too shabby
It tastes better than it look, huh?
Remember, we are white so you got to stay out of it
Hey, what are you laughing at?!
Let me get that for you
Blue boy howling for his mother instead
Mom's here, forget that stuff!
Angelee thinks it's tasty too?
It's disappearing before my eyes!
Hey, where did it all go?
I can't believe YOU ate the whole thing, mama!
Ah, I think you're cute too.

4 weeks old today! They just haven't seemed interested in having the goat milk formula at all. Well, they know to hold out for better... Grace is feeding them so well, which is great!
So today I thought I'd further grind up some 'Primal Chicken Grind' and add it to the formula. Well, that got their attention! Here they are having breakfast. (Grace had just fed them too so it must have been delicious!)

Sarah and Rico helped take the puppies outside for their first adventure outdoors. Not one complaint... it went super well even though it was sure warm.

We have some very fabulous puppies that today turned 6 weeks old! Each have their own little personalities coming out, yet all are equally loveable. I am really enjoying this litter... they are the cleanest, quite mature babies ever.
Today marks a big change for them... they are transitioning into a new environment, the 'family area' part of my kitchen. They will see all the comings and goings here and will also be able to exit easily to the backyard from the French doors. It will mean a bit more noise for awhile, as they also see the 'big dogs' out and about and want to be with them. They've had a bit of roaming time in my kitchen, so they also know that 'sweet taste of freedom'!
In the last 2 weeks, they have eaten, in this order: (raw) chicken, veal, beef, turkey. (With veal at $7.99 lb, it was a quick transition to beef!) Today they tried lamb and I have to say, it sure looks like it's their favorite.
Brands are Primal, Nature's Advantage and Stella and Chewy's. Still, no climbing into the food plate... I am so grateful for that! <g>
Grace continues to nurse them quite often, even with a mouthful of tiny sharp teeth! They will benefit greatly from her wonderful loving care of them.
I sit with them, (enjoying the chewing and biting on myself and clothing) and could cry to think there are some puppies that are forced to leave their mother and siblings at this age. There is so much they are learning, from each other, and their mother provides a great sense of security. You can be very pleased to know that all is being done to instill in them only the best of life. Sure, simple stress is important... and they are getting that from some outdoor experiences. LOL... watching them try to climb up a tall step is priceless! They get it eventually and puff out their chests and trot along, looking very proud of themselves.
I'd say little Angelee is doing a fine job of adding a bit of stress too. She is just in love with her new play toys! She wants to be out with them when they go... but yesterday... she discovered what was going on with all that suckling and she has been trying to swirm in there for a taste since! LOL!
Enjoy the tacky videos! One of these days I'll read directions and produce something worth bragging about. For now, I can only brag about these wonderful puppies!
